If your New Year’s health resolution is to build muscle, get stronger, and lose fat you need to pay your dues in the gym. That means training with full intensity and volume. Sure, going to the gym every day may be half the battle, but the main battle would be training right, eating well, and getting enough sleep. So, before you leave the gym thinking it was a waste of time, here are five workout tips to take your workout to the next level.
Pre Workout Meal Is Must
Consuming good carbs in your pre-workout meal can give you enough energy to fly through a workout. Carbs should be consumed in proportion to an individual’s body weight, so consuming 1.2 grams of carbs for every kilogram of your body weight is ideal. The pre-workout meal should be consumed one to two hours before your workout, and training on an empty stomach should be avoided as that can deplete your body, resulting in weakness, cramps, and inefficient workouts.
Walk Into The Gym With A Plan
A proper workout routine makes it easier to burn calories and allows you to control the frequency of your training. It’s also a no-brainer to write down all of the exercises you’re about to perform with proper sets and reps, as this will keep you motivated for the upcoming workout.

Warm-up Is Key
You might have listened to our podcast recommendations, and now you are motivated enough to complete all of the exercises in an hour, which is why you just want to get into the gym and start lifting. That may be a bad idea, as not properly warming up the muscle you are about to hit may increase the risk of injury. Always remember that a productive workout starts with a warm-up. Begin with five to ten minutes of light to moderate-intensity cardio. This will not only raise your core temperature but will also make your body ready for the upcoming workout.
Workout With A Training Buddy
Everyone, from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Hrithik Roshan, trains with a partner. This is why the majority of the big guys you see on social media or in WWE have personal trainers with them at all times. Training with a partner not only makes working out more enjoyable but also ensures a good workout. The best thing about having a gym partner is that you can push past your limits, which is essential when it comes to an intense workout.

Pay Attention To Recovery
If you are still sore after your last workout, chances are that you might skip your next workout or you simply go to the gym and leave without making any progress. However, post-workout is a time to celebrate, but be careful not to overdo it. If you want to recover faster, stick to the basics, which include a good post-workout meal high in carbs and protein, adequate sleep, and adequate water intake to avoid dehydration.
