A sleepless night is a period of time when an individual is unable to fall asleep. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, anxiety, depression, lifestyle choices, medical conditions, or a combination of these. Here are some tips to recover from a sleepless night.

Move Your Gaze Towards The Light

Begin the day with as much natural light as possible. Step outside, take a brief stroll, or even open your windows to signal your brain that it’s time to wake up. letting your eyes bathe in natural light sends another signal to your brain that it’s time to get up. Light exposure causes a major decrease in the production of melatonin, a hormone that promotes sleep and generally peaks in the morning.

Contrast Showers Can Be Helpful

By taking an alternate bath with hot and cold water in the shower, you can actually help your body wake up. After one minute, switch from hot to cold water, then back to hot after one minute of standing under cold water. The hot water dilates your blood vessels, allowing more blood to flow to your extremities. Cold water constricts your blood arteries, forcing blood to your vital organs. Repeating the cycle three to five times encourages greater blood circulation, providing you with more energy and increased awareness. Finishing your shower with a blast of cold water will prepare you to face the day.

Caffeine Should Be Consumed In Moderation

You can try a cup of green tea. Green tea contains less than half the caffeine found in coffee, making it a better choice than your typical cup of latte. Caffeine can overstimulate an already tired body, making you feel even more tired and exhausted after a sleepless night. Green tea contains antioxidants that protect cells from harm and polyphenols that combat inflammation and cancer.

Consume Healthy

Consume breakfast within an hour of waking up. Begin your day with a healthy balance of complex and simple carbohydrates from whole grains, honey, fruits, and veggies. Nuts contain healthy fats that are a fantastic addition to your power breakfast or mid-morning snack. Following a healthy diet routine will provide you with the energy to stay alert and productive throughout the day. Add some protein, such as eggs, which will help you stay focused and alert until your next meal.

Keep Yourself Hydrated

Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Water may not inherently wake you up, but a lack of water will cause lethargy, crankiness, and mental fog. Drinking ice water will keep you hydrated while also making you feel refreshed and alert.
