As per the reports, this study will be presented at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America or RSNA. The researchers evaluated data from 11,878 children who were between the ages of 9 to 10 years. The BMI of each child was measured and then standardized according to age, sex, and height.

Upon analysis, the researchers found that higher weight in childhood is linked to poor brain health, reduced cortical gray matter thickness, and as well as decreased functional connectivity.
