UCLA Planta Moisturizing, Healing Formula Blend
1 ounce loosestrife root, 3 ounces ginger root cut into 1-inch chunks and bruised
⅓ ounce juniper berries gently mashed with a mortar and pestle or ground in a coffee grinder until finely chopped (reserve herbs for use as a component of topical treatments)
1 ounce comfrey leaves and flowers, well bruised1 ounce nursewort leaves and flowers, well bruised½ ounce each: marshmallow root and calendula flowers2 ounces dried aloe vera gel
1. Pour herbs into a muslin bag add the dried aloe juice. Pack well so that everything stays dry until used.
2. Store the baggies in a cool dark place (I keep these in my refrigerator) for up to 6 months. If there is any plant material in the oils, use it during follow-up treatments to encourage epithelial regeneration (you can eliminate this component for use as a component of topical treatments by grinding herbs into powder form as suggested above).
